About the new energy vehicle battery power performance

2010 focus on low-carbon industry a focus of concern is the power battery. Short-term policy, the implementation of new energy vehicles decided to Ni-MH battery production and sales scale, future technological breakthroughs will determine the progress of Li-ion battery applications, the scarcity of listed companies in the subject of reserves should not be overlooked investment opportunities.

Auto manufacturers to speed up transition to a new energy vehicles

Studies have reported that the focus this year, promising motive power batteries, nuclear power, smart grid, and photovoltaic plates. By comparing abatement costs - the potential curve, size of the market - competition in the industry and the boom phase - the industry growth potential and other methods to evaluate investment opportunities plate in 2010, promising key motive power batteries VGP-BPS9/B , VGP-BPS9/S , nuclear power, smart grid, and photovoltaic plates. The report said that low-carbon investment value of a company’s core elements embodied in the control of mineral resources the major or critical raw materials, production and supply of major spare parts or equipment, with the core technology or engineering innovation, integration of industrial chain integration, and to enjoy a good market brand and customer resources in five areas.

It is understood that, “Air Law” to be submitted to the NPC for approval this year to further improve the “Motor Vehicle Pollution Control Regulations” and “,” Shier Wu “in motor vehicle pollution control planning,” marked the domestic legal environment is getting tough, traditional use of the increasing cost of petrol vehicles, new energy vehicles will be the laws and regulations to guide the direction of industrial policy.

The analysis pointed out that the new fuel economy standards forced domestic auto manufacturers to speed up transition to a new energy vehicles. Science and Technology proposed new fuel economy standards for the United States to improve vehicle fuel economy standards for the first time responses. Obama last May 19 to announce that since 2016, the United States to implement fuel consumption of 6.6 liters per 100 kilometers of new fuel economy standards, Latitude D830 battery , implemented earlier than scheduled in 2020 in 4 years. The implementation of new standards meant that most of the United States traveling on the street cars will be scrapped by 2016.

The current global average vehicle fuel consumption 9.4 liters per 100 kilometers or so, according to the new fuel consumption standards, only Toyota, 2 cars, a GM car models to meet the requirements. According to China’s proposed new fuel consumption regulations, emissions of CO2 per kilometer for 161 grams, according to 1 liter of gasoline is equivalent to 2.3 kg CO2, the new fuel consumption standards for the equivalent of 7 liters gasoline per 100 kilometers, slightly less than the American standard. A clear timetable for implementation of the new fuel economy standards, which means major domestic automobile manufacturers turn to the existing models have to be more energy-efficient vehicle emission reduction, new energy vehicles are the major automobile manufacturers full development of the strategic high ground.

The most battery will be production

Electric Bicycle the “most cattle cell” in the Chinese production

Can electric bicycle as light as regular bikes? Longer service life can do? This problem has been cracked, Wuhan enterprises.

The battery life of up to five years, known as 4 kg weight of about batteries, yesterday in New Energy Co., Ltd. Wuhan Lixing put into production this year 20000 lithium batteries VGP-BPS2 , VGP-BPS2A , VGP-BPS2B used in electric bike specifically for the State Post Bureau is equipped with electric bicycles, life expectancy the highest in the country, according to residents daily mileage, up to 5 years.

Electric bicycle body is not heavy, but the batteries are very heavy. Market, the vast majority of electric bicycles use of lead-acid batteries, weight 13 kg, life expectancy 2 years, 100% of about 200 times the number of charge cycles; while lithium batteries weighs about 4 kg, 100% up to 2200 times the number of charge cycles, are the field, production, retail sales were lower than the lead-acid batteries twice as high.

New Energy Co., Ltd. Deputy General Manager Li Xing Wang Chuan-yi said that in the civilian area of focus on production of electric bicycle lithium battery, solar cells and other new energy products, thus filling the gaps in Wuhan manufacturing. With the increase in production, ex-factory price will be reduced to around thousand dollars.

Germany has the world’s largest solar cell module

According to industry estimates, Germany has the world’s nearly half of the solar modules. Installation of solar energy in Germany in 2009 exceeded the amount expected, mainly due to the roof components for high-quality sustained demand. German Federal Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (GermanyTrade & Invest) will be at this year’s International Professional Exhibition solar photovoltaic (PVExpo) showcasing the world’s largest solar market, the latest opportunities. This year’s PVExpo will be 3 to 5 March in Tokyo, Japan.

Germany’s newly installed capacity in 2009 could exceed 3.0GW, accounting for about a year half of the global PV market. This results in 2009 the Germans in the global installed solar capacity in the total share from 37% to nearly 50%.

The new photovoltaic system installed in the small area of the roof unstoppable. Up to November 2009, the newly installed system, there are nine-tenths of the system capacity is less than the minimum 30kWp. One of the more popular high-grade solar modules. The vast majority of private users prefer the high-end components in a certain kind, Inspiron 1525 battery,Inspiron 1526 battery and even high-end business users are also components of the selection. These figures show that for high-quality products, strong demand, while those with “Made in Germany” (MadeinGermany) mark means high quality.

Germany’s success in the field of photovoltaic key reason lies in its two-pronged approach: Industry support and market adoption. Germany’s solar industry has attracted many of the most famous institutions, including R & D institutions until the suppliers and manufacturers. At the same time, the German domestic market also received support from a number of interesting initiatives, such as the “Renewable Energy Act” (RenewableEnergiesAct, referred to as EEG), and EnvironmentalProtectionLoanProgram (Environmental Loan Scheme). These initiatives through the implementation of an attractive long-term electricity price subsidies and low-interest loans to reduce risk.

German Federal Foreign Trade and Investment Department will send representatives to participate in this year’s PVExpo,  U4873, D5318,Inspiron 6000 battery to discuss the world’s largest solar market business opportunities. East Exhibition Hall 4 Booth (EastHall4) 22 Zhi 26.

German Federal Foreign Trade and Investment Department of the Federal Republic of Germany’s foreign trade and inward foreign capital institutions. The organization seeks to expand its business activities to the German market for non-German companies to provide advice, and want to enter the German market outside Germany providing information on foreign trade.

Stylish battery extenders

My iPhone is clearly the gadget I use the most, so I don’t find it too strange that nearly every iPhone battery extender and charging case seems to gravitate my way.

My main complaint about the iPhone from the beginning has been the short battery life. I’m lucky to get 24 hours from a charge.

Instead of complaining loudly to Apple, I think most people (myself included) have simply bought one or more devices that store energy to recharge your iPhone when you need more power.

I’ve been reviewing four cases from SaFPWR, whose offices are in Lewisville.
X-type ($69.95)

This is a fairly bare-bones battery backpack for the iPhone that offers protection on the back and corners but leaves the phone’s sides and top exposed.

It’s got a great design, with a battery that connects to the iPhone dock connector and uses a plastic clip to hang onto the phone on the top corners. It sounds more complicated than it looks.

The case weighs 2.4 ounces, and its 1200mAh battery can provide an additional 4.5 hours of talk time or nine hours of video playback. The battery takes 3.5 hours to recharge and will last about 500 charge cycles.

The case charges through a mini USB jack and has status lights on the back that light up at the touch of a button.

There is no on/off switch on the SaFPWR cases. When you attach them to your phone the charging begins, and once the case is exhausted, the iPhone’s battery takes over.
Standard ($79.95)

It’s hard to believe how many options this case has. There are 27 color and texture choices available, in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The cases close with a small magnetic closure. They’re available with or without a belt clip.

Battery life is also 1200mAh, and the case weighs just under 3 ounces. The standard case is 0.78 inches thick.

For reference, the iPhone’s 3G/GS internal battery is rated at 1190mAh, so you’re doubling your iPhone’s battery life of Inspiron 640m battery ,Inspiron E1405 battery , XPS M140  .

I reviewed the vertical case. The phone slides into the battery and a flap comes up from the bottom and attaches at the top. To use the phone, there’s the matter of letting the flap hang down or trying to fold it up against the back of the case.

I like the protection the case offers, and it looks great, but I’m not sure this format is right for me.
XR ($99.95)

The XR is identical physically to the standard case except the VGP-BPS9/B  has a capacity of 2000mAh, which will charge your iPhone’s battery almost two full times.

The increased capacity means the XR weighs more (4.2 ounces) and is thicker (1.02 inches). The XR is also available with a belt clip.

The SaFPWR people sent me the XR in a color they call bronze. It’s quite – how should I put this nicely? – bright. This might be a color that Phyllis Diller would be proud to display.

Because the iPhone’s camera is on the back, the cases have a hole slightly smaller than a dime for the lens to see through without cutting off any of the image.
Case for iPod Touch ($79.95)

This case looks just like the standard case and has the same capacity (1200mAh).

It comes in 15 colors and textures. The iPod Touch cases only come in a horizontal orientation. Because the iPod’s headphone jack is on the bottom, there’s a notch cut out of the bottom corner that looks a little awkward, but it’s nothing to complain about.

The iPod Touch case will add another 42 hours of music playback or seven additional hours of video playback.

Overall, I’m impressed with the build quality and look of these cases. All models come with a USB charging cable.

There are dozens of companies making iPod and iPhone battery extenders and cases, and SaFPWR really stands out as having great-looking and functional products.

The cases are available on the SaFPWR Web site, safpwr.com, or from local retailers. SaFPWR battery extenders, charging cases

United Kingdom remind industry regulations of battery

The United Kingdom’s Environment Agency is urging small businesses that make, import, or sell batteries and battery-operated equipment to ensure that those products comply with new regulations to reduce the environmental impact of batteries. Any business that in 2009 placed batteries for the first time on the market in the United Kingdom should have registered as a battery producer. The first deadline for submitting battery data for 2009 was Jan 31, 2010.

The actions are new responsibilities under the United Kingdom’s Waste Batteries GK479 , FK890 , Inspiron 1720 battery  and Accumulators Regulations that came into force in 2009. The regulations set out how the United Kingdom collects, treats, and recycles all types of waste batteries and rechargeable batteries. The Environment Agency estimates that approximately 700 million batteries, which can contain substances that are harmful to the environment, such as cadmium, enter UK landfills each year. Meanwhile, the government agency estimates that just 3% of the 30,000 tons of portable batteries sold in the UK market annually are currently recycled. “Ensuring that portable batteries Inspiron 1721 battery,Inspiron 1520 battery,Inspiron 1521 battery  are correctly disposed of and their component parts, such as their metal casings, are reused is good news for the environment,” says Bob Mead, the Environment Agency’s batteries-project manager.

iPhone backup battery

After working reliably for over a year, my Richard Solo Model 1200 backup battery for the iPhone unexpectedly caused some major grief. However, I believe that at least part of the blame for the trouble resided with me. With my iPhone’s battery running low, I connected a fully-charged 1200 to the iPhone. I then stuck the connected combo into my pants pocket. Although this was something I had done numerous times before without incident, I believe this was the precipitating cause of the problem (more on this point in a moment).

When I later removed the iPhone and Apple battery  from my pocket, I could not get any response from the iPhone. The screen remained dark no matter what button I pressed. I disconnected the 1200 from the iPhone. This had no effect. The iPhone remained completely dead.

Later, after returning home, I connected the iPhone to its charger. This too had no effect. Even after waiting 30 minutes or so, the iPhone showed no sign of life; its screen remained completely dark. I was starting to get concerned that the iPhone had been permanently damaged.

As a last resort, with the iPhone still connected to a power outlet, I reset the iPhone (simultaneously pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and the Home buttons for at least ten seconds). This did the trick. The screen finally lit up and the battery icon appeared. However, in a further unexpected and unwelcome surprise, the screen indicated that there was zero charge left in the iPhone’s batteryA1175 ,MacBook Pro 15 inch battery  . In other words, not only had the Solo backup battery failed to charge my iPhone, it had led to a loss of battery power beyond what would have occurred if I had never connected the 1200 to the iPhone in the first place.

The good news was that, after waiting a couple of hours, the iPhone fully recovered its charge and all seemed well again.

What the heck had happened? As an initial test, after confirming that the Richard Solo battery was charged, I reconnected the 1200 to the iPhone. This time a message appeared that said: “This accessory is not made to work with iPhone.” This had never happened before. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery several times. Exactly what happened on each occasion varied a bit. For example, on one try, no error message appeared but the iPhone’s battery icon did not shift to indicate that charging was taking place. Clearly, whatever message did or did not appear, something was wrong with the Solo battery.

As it turned out, Macworld Expo was just around the corner. While there, I brought up this incident with some friends. One of them had had the exact same thing happen. After some discussion, we concurred that the immediate cause was almost certainly a bent wire in the battery’s dock connector. From a brief inspection of the 1200, I could see no obvious damage, but I assumed it was there.

In my case, I assumed that the damage resulted from unintended pressure applied while the connected phone and battery resided in my pocket. Problems with the dock connector are a known source of the “accessory is not made…” message (as noted in this Apple support article). I suppose I should consider myself lucky that the damage was restricted only to the Solo battery’s connector and not to the iPhone itself.

As for the completely drained iPhone  Apple A1078 ,  Apple PowerBook G4 15 inch battery  , I can only theorize as to the cause. My friend suspected that the damaged wire may have led to a reversal in the direction of current flow, so that power was going from the iPhone to the battery instead of the reverse. I can’t confirm this, but it would certainly account for the symptoms. I contacted RichardSolo.com for a reply, but did not receive an answer.

In any case, I’ve learned my lesson. In the future, whenever I have any accessory connected to my iPhone, it will staying far away from my pants pocket.

Aperture 3.0.1

Follow up to last week’s column on Aperture 3: Apple has released Aperture 3.0.1, which fixes at least some of the issues covered in the column. For example, Apple now cites the problem where Aperture quits on launch as “resolved.”

Sanyo targets the world’s first rechargeable battery

Japan’s Sanyo Electric (SanyoElectricCo.) on February 24 called in, and Matsushita (Panasonic) alliance, Sanyo in the next few years will become the world’s largest rechargeable battery supplier.

At present, the lithium batteries Precision M65 battery , XPS M1210 , XPS M140 used in notebook computers and mobile phones. With the global increase in demand for electric cars are expected to demand for automotive lithium batteries will continue to increase. Homma forecast, as of 2020, Sanyo will account for a quarter of the global Li-ion battery market share.

Panasonic Toyota Motor co-operate with a lithium battery joint venture, the company primarily for the supply of car Toyota lithium batteries. But Sanyo said that they have no car prices to the global supply of lithium batteries free, without any constraints. At present, Sanyo has already Honda, Volkswagen and Ford Motor Co. signed a supply agreement.

According to the Taiwan Fitch Ratings (FITchRatings) Director KevinChang analysis, due to have a certain degree of strength and size, Panasonic - Sanyo alliance is bound to the field of lithium batteries in the car with a place.

Than the price of solar-cell factory

The recent international oil price rebounded to near 80 U.S. dollars per barrel premium to drive solar plant yesterday (22) on the performance of impressive open-red plate, Sun Branch (3561), the new Daylight (3576) limit-storm, stock prices are beyond the long-established factory Masumichi (3452), set off a new wave of Taiwan’s stock market solar-cell battery factory parity Quotes.

Investment trust corporate noted that solar-related ethnic groups and movements in oil prices related to the recent international oil prices in the bank, again attract the popular Focus. The government will promote the reduction of carbon energy industries, and make energy-saving industry has become a mainstream industry, solar and other alternative energy industries will also benefit.

On the current industry status quo, the German solar subsidy determined to delay the implementation of reduction of the local market demand is expected to boom to the end of May; plus the United States intends to launch a new wave of nationwide solar subsidy program will also help stimulate a new buying came out.

Solar-cell factory in Taiwan over the current orders in hand, capacity is full, optimistic about the follow-up market demand, has expansion plans this year, the total solar-cell factory in Taiwan this year, the total additional capacity of over 1GW (10 billion watts), handwriting is the biggest ever.

Among them, Motech (6244) before the end of this year will be the end of 600MW (megawatts) expanded to 800MW, and with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (2330) Co-development of the downstream module, the system mid-market.

How to store computers

QUESTION: Our son took a job in Korea for at least a year and could not take a desktop computer he’d just bought. He wants us to keep it until his return. … How do we store it? Does it need to be plugged in and turned on regularly?

- Toby Harrell

ANSWER: First, if he has any data on the hard disk - e-mails, documents, financial records - it’s a good idea to back up all of it.

Next, disconnect the computer. That way it’ll be safe from voltage surges and lightning strikes. There is a small battery inside the computer that preserves some basic settings; that battery should last more than a year.

Finally, return the computer to the shipping box if you have it. If not, find another and pack it away. As long as the computer is stored in a heated and air-conditioned space in your home, nothing else is necessary.

Do not wrap it in airtight plastic, by the way. Although that will offer dust protection, it raises the danger of moisture condensing inside.

QUESTION: Our computer is nearly five years old but seems to work just fine. We use it for browsing the Web and sending e-mails. A friend recommends that we replace the computer because of its age. Is he right?

- James Strange

ANSWER: When I started writing about computers I created what I called Husted’s First Law: Replace a computer only when it can no longer do a satisfactory job of what you ask it to do. That still holds, and it sounds like it applies in your case.

That said, a new computer’s power might lead you to find new uses for it. So if money isn’t a problem and you have a hankering for a new machine, go right ahead. For the same or less money you’ll get a much more powerful machine and it might open new computing horizons for you.

QUESTION: You’ve recommended that users update drivers. How?

- Anonymous

ANSWER: Drivers are the small programs that let your computer communicate with devices such as video cards, printers, etc. The best source for a new one is at the manufacturer’s Web site. Usually you’ll find them in a section labeled “Downloads” or “Support.”

But you also attention you laptop battery/computer batery.
